Farmers Branch.   The Mustang’s took to the ice with high expectations for this year’s playoffs.  After a scoreless first period, the boys got into some penalty trouble but a relentless Jayson Fisher scored a short handed tally fighting off a 5 on 3 kill.  The second period had the teams tied at two apiece (Dalton scoring Grapevine’s second goal).  Grapevine struck first and fast into the third period as Quinn Hardtke scored 11 seconds into the period but Denton County came back with two unanswered goals at the 3:34 and 6:15 mark of the period to take a 4-3 lead.  Alternate Captain Alex Rife’s goal tied the game at 10:33 and Dalton Foster’s second goal of the night 21 seconds later put the boys up 5-4.

Grapevine takes on #1 seed Garland, Thursday evening at ITC with the puck dropping at 630PM.
