Grapevine Win over Colleyville and We are Playoff Bound!
March 6, 2010. Grapevine, TX. Your Grapevine Mustangs beat cross district rival Colleyville 4-2 on March 1 and guaranteed a key playoff seed for the playoffs. Jayson Fisher scored two goals and finished third in the league in goals with 26 goals. This was a considerable feat considering his “short” season of 17 games played. Dalton Foster was credited with the game winner (third with total points for Grapevine and 17 goals for the season) but it was Alex Rife’s 18th goal of the year, a short handed goal early in the third period that gave the Mustangs a bit of breathing room. It is always nice to beat your “cross district” rival, isn’t it?
The teams regular season record of 12-11 fails to show the fact that the boys scored a total of 126 goals to be FOURTH in the Varsity Silver league (out of 17 teams).
FANS – MARCH 9TH WILL BE OUR FIRST PLAYOFF GAME AND WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. THE LEAGUE WILL ANNOUNCE FINAL SEEDS ON MONDAY, MARCH 8 AND WE EXPECT TO PLAY IN FARMERS BRANCH.
