Mustangs continue to roll, Top Bishop Lynch 6-4
Euless, TX. January 28, 2010. Grapevine Mustangs hammered out 6 goals over three periods (including a shorthanded goal) to top a very feisty Bishop Lynch team. The boys quickly jumped into the lead with a goal by Nick Aldi (2 goals, 2 assists) at the 2:31 mark assisted by Jayson Fisher (2 goals, 2 assists) and Phil Sapp (1 assist). Jayson Fisher put his first of two goals on the night at the 6:12 mark with helpers from Nick Aldi and Stuart Campbell (1 goal, 2 assists). The first period ended with a late Bishop Lynch goal at 14:41 as the team entered the second period up 2-1. The team got into penalty trouble during the second period but still managed to score a shorthanded goal by Jayson Fisher but Bishop Lynch scored early and late (at 0:17 and 14:52) to tie the game at the end of two. The third period started with a Bishop Lynch goal early at the 1:35 mark in the period that put the team down for the first time in the game. However, Grapevine answered back 75 seconds later with Nick Aldi’s second goal of the night assisted by Stuart Campbell to tie the game. Grapevine scored two more unanswered goals by Alex Rife (1 goal) assisted by Jakob Young and Stuart Campbell’s goal at 11:53 to put a bit of cushion on the board (helper from Jakob Young) as the Mustangs moved to 10-9 on the season.
