December 17, 2009. Euless, TX.  Your Grapevine HS Mustangs bounced back tonight by lighting up HEB-Birdville 9-2.  Your Mustangs came out skating fast and strong as they moved the puck and tenaciously pounded the HEB goal tender.  The first period belonged to Jayson Fisher as he scored 4 goals and had an assist (a 5 point night) during the games opening period.  Grapevine who owned the first period also saw goals from Dalton Foster (whose goal at the 8:12 mark and proved to be the game winner) and Dylan Johnson (a shorthanded tally) opened up at 6-0 lead.  As the game moved into a second period the play moved into a grind as the Mustangs began to play with their “food” (as Razor would say).  Second period goals from Jakob Young and Nick Aldi offset the first tally by HEB during the frame.  The second period also was the most penalized by the boys as they send five to the BOX.  The usual suspects entered and left the penalty box adding to their league leading PIM.  The anti-climatic third period was a draw as Stovall scored as the game moved to run time.  Special teams had a splendid showing tonight scoring three power play goals and a shorty.  Also, your Mustangs pounded out thirty-nine shots (a good bounce given the past games).

The Mustangs take the ice on Saturday at Euless for the final time in 2009 against intra-district rival Colleyville and look to end the first half on a positive note.
